On 3 February 2024 in Guiglo, the Wêbloa health mutual opened its head office before members and local authorities, under its credo: “the health of the Wê people, our credo”.

ADEWE works for sustainable development and access to healthcare in the Cavally region — the land of the Wè people, in western Ivory Coast. We are carrying two projects that are complementary and inseparable: an inter-regional hospital, and the health cover that makes it viable.

Who we are
A development association, born of a founding assembly
ADEWE is a development association created on 29 July 2012 at the Val-de-Marne prefecture by the participants of the Founding General Assembly, under the French 1901 law on associations and groupings.
Its acronym carries its method. In the Wè language, ADEWE means: "Let us sit down and take our place as Wè" and "Let us organise ourselves as Wè". In all our thinking and action, we give priority to the Wè cause.

Define and promote development action across the Wè country.

Put the Wè at the centre of everything, and stay in service of the community.

The Wè people
The Wè are a West African people straddling Ivory Coast and Liberia. In Ivory Coast, the Wè country lies between the Cavally and Sassandra rivers. Their number can be estimated at close to half a million.

ADEWE commits to devoting its action fully and entirely to the activities set out in its statutory purpose, and to those that contribute to achieving it. It nevertheless reserves the right to take a position on political questions relating to the Wè cause.
